Shapescaper® Stakes

Shapescaper® provide a number of staking options depending on what you’re trying to achieve with your landscaping project. The general rule of thumb for selecting the right stake is making sure the stake is more than twice the profile height as a minimum.

Shapescaper® stakes are available in lengths from 230mm all the way up to 1180mm and are ideal for securing your Shapescaper®edging profiles and for strengthening and anchoring in most applications. It is recommended for curved edging applications to use 3 pegs evenly spaced out along each 2.4m length and 4 pegs where straight lines are required. Generally you place one in the centre and one at each end about 400mm in from your connector plate. By all means, you can use more should you desire and it’s a good idea in very soft sandy type soil.

Shapescaper® stakes are precision laser cut and made to fit perfectly under the top rolled lip of the edging. They do not require fasteners at the top of the edge due to the lip design, and are secured with the provided tek screws at the bottom of the edging, just below the soil level.

A good rule of thumb is to use a peg that is twice the height of the edging you choose. The pre-drilled holes in the pegs allow them to be used on various heights too helping reduce waste and more custom installations. The 230mm peg can be used with both the 75mm and 100mm edging, 300mm peg can be used with the 75mm, 100mm and 150mm edging. The 400mm pegs can be used with the 150mm, 185mm and 230mm edging. Once you go to the 290mm or higher edging, then you would use pegs from 450mm and up.
